Instead he reportedly went and bought gift cards so he could still give back in a way that followed the rules. When the government shuts down, a lot of people feel it but not always the people you think.
Workers like TSA agents are considered essential. That means they still have to show up and do their jobs. They are at airports every day, making sure flights are safe, checking bags, and protecting travelers.
But during a shutdown?
They may not get paid on time.
Let that sink in.
You’re going to work, doing a job that protects the country, and you’re not getting your paycheck when you expect it.
