LeBron James leaving the Lakers…..

Some fans are upset. Some fans are ready to move on. Some fans are saying, “Good for him.” Honestly, I can understand all of it.

LeBron has been with the Lakers for a long time. He did not just show up for a quick run and disappear. He gave Los Angeles several years of his career. He helped bring the Lakers a championship in 2020. He played through injuries, roster changes, coaching changes, and all the heavy pressure that comes with being LeBron James.

That matters.

So when I hear that he may be ready to play somewhere else, I do not look at it like he quit on the Lakers. He did not leave in the middle of the season. He did not walk away when things got uncomfortable. He stayed, competed, and gave the team real time.

At the same time, I understand why some Lakers fans may feel hurt or tired.

Being a Lakers fan comes with high expectations. This is a franchise built on championships. Fans do not just want good moments. They want banners. So when LeBron’s time in Los Angeles does not end with more rings, some people will feel like the job was not fully finished.

I get that too.

There is also the business side of basketball. The Lakers have to think about their future. LeBron is still great, but he is not 25 anymore. At some point, the team has to ask what comes next. Do they keep building around LeBron, or do they turn the page and build around younger players?

That is not disrespect. That is just the NBA.

But LeBron also has to think about his own ending.

This could be his last big move before he truly retires. That is what makes this story feel different. We may not be watching just another free agency move. We may be watching the final major chapter of one of the greatest careers in sports history.

And if that is the case, I cannot blame him for wanting to choose the right situation.

Some people may call it ring chasing. I look at it a little differently. At this point, what else does LeBron need to prove? He has the records. He has the titles. He has the money. He has the name. But competitors do not just wake up one day and stop wanting to win.

That fire is probably still there.

I am not saying Lakers fans have to be happy about it. They have every right to feel disappointed. LeBron was a major part of their team and their story. When a player like that leaves, it does not feel small.

But I also think there should be some respect in the way people talk about it.

LeBron gave the Lakers a championship. He gave them star power. He kept them relevant. He stayed longer than some people may want to admit. Even if the ending feels awkward, the whole run should not be erased.

Now the big question is simple.

Where does he go next?

Does he join a team ready to win right now? Does he team up with another superstar? Does he shock the league with a move nobody sees coming? Or does he make one final decision that brings his career full circle? *Cough Cough* Golden State Warriors *COUGH*

I do not know what LeBron will do next. But I do know in my humble opinion he is NOT done
