When I read that WWE is now moving toward AI generated stories my jaw dropped. Wrestling has always been a human driven art form a mix of emotions, timing, and real people reading the room. And now AI is stepping into the spot where bookers and writers once stood. As someone who loves wrestling, this one hit home for me in a big way.

This report According to “The Wrestling Observer,” says WWE brought in Senior Director of Creative Strategy Cyrus Kowsari to lead a push into AI based storytelling. The plan is to use an AI platform called “Writer AI” to pitch ideas, not just for storylines but also for videos and graphics. Technology is now in the creative seat folks

That is wild to me…………

I don’t hate AI…..I use AI myself as a tool. It can help organize ideas, give options, and save time. If WWE uses AI the right way like looking at data, trend patterns, and what fans react to it could help strengthen storylines. Imagine AI pointing out crowd reactions, social buzz, or fan behavior and helping writers make better decisions. That part could be useful.

But there is a big difference between using AI as a tool and letting AI take over the pen.

Wrestling is built on human instinct the look in a wrestler’s eyes, the crowd flipping a storyline in real time, a promo that hits because someone feels it in their chest. AI can copy the format but it can’t feel the moment. And once companies start seeing money savings, they often go all in. That is where the risk comes in.

Pros of AI in Wrestling:

  • Could help reduce bad or lazy writing
  • Can analyze fan data and trends
  • May help brainstorm new angles faster
  • Could save companies money

Cons of AI in Wrestling:

  • Could lead to layoffs of real writers
  • Storylines may feel robotic or soulless
  • AI doesn’t understand crowd emotion
  • Wrestling could lose its human identity over time

The scariest part is not the tech it’s the people running it. Reports say some decision makers at the top have no real loyalty to wrestling history or to the staff. If AI is used only to cut costs, that could damage the product long term.

At the end of the day, I don’t mind AI. I use it. I respect it. But I still believe the best wrestling moments come from humans …real minds, real emotions, real stories.

AI should assist the booker… not become the booker.
