So, let’s talk about the whole Charlie Kirk situation. For those who might not have heard, Charlie Kirk was a well known conservative activist and politician who was tragically assassinated recently. Now, I’ve got to admit, when I first heard about it, I didn’t know much about him myself. I had to do a bit of research to really understand who he was and what he stood for.
And here’s the thing, I wasn’t even planning to get too deep into it. I figured I’d just send my condolences and move on. But the backlash people have been getting just for expressing sympathy is kind of mind blowing. It really shows how politics can wreck friendships, families, and just about everything in between.
Honestly, maybe we’ve always been this divided, but social media and the pandemic have just put a spotlight on it. It’s like we’re seeing the true level of division that was always there, just turned up to the max.
At the end of the day, I think it’s just about having a bit of decency. Like my mom and teachers use to say when I was young growing up…. If you don’t have anything nice to say, just don’t say nothing at all. Whether you agreed with him or not, there’s no reason to celebrate someone’s death. So yeah, I’m sending my condolences to his family because that’s the right thing to do. Thanks for reading
