I just came across an intriguing article on Wrestling Headlines titled “Wrestling Legend Believes WWE’s Partnership With TNA Could Be Sign That They’re Preparing To Buy The Company.” This piece got me thinking about the future of TNA Wrestling and its relationship with WWE.
In the article, a wrestling legend suggests that WWE’s recent partnership with TNA might be a precursor to an acquisition. He mentions, “Is this kind of a toe in the water to see how it can go and stuff? I’m sure WWE would love to buy TNA just for the library.” This makes a lot of sense. WWE has a history of acquiring wrestling promotions to expand its content library and showcase past matches of current stars.
Imagine WWE purchasing TNA. It would be awesome! TNA’s roster is packed with talented performers who would benefit greatly from WWE’s vast resources and global platform. Wrestlers like Moose, Jordynne Grace, and Eddie Edwards could gain more exposure and new opportunities within WWE’s ecosystem. However, thats if they accept those talents in the event of TNA being sold.
Reflecting on TNA’s recent moves, I do think they’re setting up for a sale. Typically, before a company is sold, we see certain signs:
- Partnerships and Collaborations: TNA’s multi year partnership with WWE, announced in January 2025, allows talent exchanges and crossover appearances. Such collaborations can make a company more attractive to potential buyers by increasing its visibility and value.
- Leadership Changes: Significant shifts in management often occur before a sale. In February 2024, TNA’s president, Scott D’Amore, was unexpectedly dismissed. Leadership changes can signal internal restructuring aimed at making the company more appealing to buyers.
- Talent Exposure: Allowing TNA talent to appear on WWE programming, like Jordynne Grace’s participation in the 2024 Royal Rumble, increases their marketability and showcases the brand’s value to potential investors.
These factors suggest that TNA might be positioning itself for acquisition. For fans, this could mean more exciting crossovers and dream matches. However, it’s essential for TNA to maintain its unique identity and ensure that its talent continues to shine, regardless of ownership.
What are your thoughts on this potential acquisition? Do you think it’s the right move for both companies? Share your opinions in the comments below, and stay tuned for more wrestling insights and discussions here on my blog.
