You know, I’ve got to say this right off the bat: John Cena’s whole retirement tour is just not hitting the spot for me. And I know that might not be the most popular opinion, but hey, here we go.
When Cena first announced he was stepping away, I was like, “Wow, that’s the end of an era.” I mean, this is the guy a lot of us grew up watching. But now that the tour is rolling on, I just feel like there’s a big piece of the puzzle missing. It’s not that Cena’s lost a step in the ring, he’s still doing fine there. It’s just, well, the magic’s not quite there for me.
Honestly, the most interesting part isn’t even Cena…it’s the guys he’s facing off against. I’m more excited to see Brock Lesnar show up than to watch another Cena match. And look, I kind of hoped maybe we’d get a throwback to the old Cena, the guy who used to drop those Thuganomics style rhymes and just felt a little more natural. But instead, it all feels a bit forced, like they’re trying to make us feel emotional, and it just doesn’t land. When Cena was playing the “Bad Guy” or being a heel I feel like he was doing so well in a way but now…hmm…Maybe it’s just me???…shrugs…
So yeah, that’s my take. Maybe I’m not the only one feeling this way. I’ll miss Cena when he’s gone, but right now, the retirement tour just isn’t giving me that spark. Let’s see if they can spice it up.
