I’ll start by saying, I’m no politician. I’m not a Republican or a Democrat. I grew up leaning Democrat, but as time went on, I realized one side doesn’t have all the answers. I believe there’s good on both sides and in that spirit I have to give credit where it’s due… Governor Brian Kemp, in my opinion, has been phenomenal for Georgia.
First, let’s talk about what he promised and delivered. Kemp campaigned on making Georgia the top state for business and guess what? We’ve held that title for 12 years straight. He promised tax cuts and delivered. Kemp lowered income tax rates, putting more money in our pockets. He gave raises to teachers and state employees such as public safety something we all know was overdue.
When gas prices went through the roof, I was waiting for someone………anyone…….to ease the burden. Kemp stepped up, suspending the gas tax multiple times. That was real relief. And let’s not forget his focus on school safety he put money into making sure our kids are safer in schools and expanded school choice, giving families more options.
Now, I won’t pretend to agree with everything. The whole face mask debate with Mayor Bottoms during COVID.. ahhh I wasn’t on board. But that’s the thing I don’t expect to agree with any leader 100%. The fact is Kemp has done a lot to actually take care of us Georgians.
As Kemp gives his final address, I’m genuinely thankful for the work he’s done. I may not know who’s running next, but whoever it is, they’ve got big shoes to fill!!
