My family once saw me and my spouse as a similar kind of couple, one that others looked up to. So, when rumors about the Obamas’ marriage troubles popped up, I couldn’t help but wonder, Could this be true, or are we overthinking it?

- Jimmy Carter’s State Funeral: Michelle wasn’t there. The reason? A “scheduling conflict.” She was reportedly on a long vacation in Hawaii.
- Donald Trump’s Inauguration: Michelle skipped this too, while Barack attended. People say her dislike for Trump may have been the reason.
