This year, as Thanksgiving rolls around, I find myself reflecting on the past few years. Honestly, it’s been a wild ride. Life has thrown some serious curveballs my way, changes at work, a divorce, and the heartbreaking loss of both my father and stepfather. It’s been a roller coaster, to say the least.

But as I sit here typing, there’s a different feeling this year. A feeling I can’t quite explain but one that’s hard to ignore. It reminds me of that moment in How the Grinch Stole Christmas when his heart grew three sizes. And I owe that feeling, that growth, to one person… my two year old son, Miles.

Miles has been my rock. He’s the reason I get up every day and push forward. He gives me purpose, love, and a reason to keep going. He’s also not shy about reminding me when I’m doing too much. If I’m too busy, he slows me down, whether it’s by dragging me to play or just flashing that innocent, knowing smile. Miles has been the biggest blessing from God, and honestly, I don’t know where I’d be without him.

This Thanksgiving, I’m filled with gratitude. I’m thankful for my family, my close friends, my career, my business, my family at station 2C (your amazing),….. and my life. But above all, I’m thankful for Miles. He’s changed me in ways I never imagined. He’s taught me what it means to love unconditionally and to keep moving forward, even when the days feel hard.

But this message isn’t just about me. It’s about all of us. I know there are people out there who might be struggling..feeling down or overwhelmed by life. And I want you to know that it’s okay. Life isn’t easy, but the fact that you’re here, fighting another day, is something to be thankful for.

Thanksgiving isn’t about the food, the turkey, or even red velvet cake (though, let’s be honest, red velvet cake especially from my Aunt Gwen is pretty awesome). It’s not about the perfect Instagram posts or having the fanciest dinner. It’s about taking a moment to reflect on what matters most……….being here, living, breathing, and fighting through whatever challenges come your way.

If you’re feeling like life is too heavy right now, don’t give up. You’re here for a reason. You’re stronger than you think, and you’ve made it this far. Take a moment to be thankful for yourself, because you deserve it.

This season, let’s focus on what really matters, love, hope, and the people and things that keep us going. For me, that’s my son Miles, my family, and the chance to keep growing and living. For you, it might be something different, but whatever it is, hold onto it.

From my heart to yours, Happy Thanksgiving. Let’s all be thankful for the gift of another year and the strength to keep going.
