I find myself reflecting on the profound impact my mom has had on my life. Words can hardly express how thankful I am for having the mom I have. I feel the love and support she’s shown me, not just in the past, but every single day.

Growing up, there were times when I doubted myself. I remember the moments when I’d come home, defeated and disheartened, feeling like I wasn’t good enough. But my mom, she never let me believe that. When I couldn’t see my own potential, she saw it clearly and reminded me, time and time again, that I could achieve anything I set my mind to.

Even when I was consumed by self doubt, uttering words “of self-hatred”I hate myself” or “I’m just stupid”, she responded with nothing but love and care. Her belief in me never wavered, even when everyone else seemed to have their doubts teachers, families, coaches, etc. She was my rock, my constant source of encouragement in a world that sometimes felt cold. I didn’t realize the comfort she brought until I got older and the energy it takes to constantly try to be positive with your own child. Even when she had bad days she still remained consistent.

I’ll never forget the times when she fought tirelessly for me, demanding the extra help I needed from the school system. She didn’t just sit back and hope for the best…. she took action, advocating for my education and ensuring that I had the support. Her determination and commitment to my well being are qualities I admire and aspire to emulate with my own son.

She taught me the importance of honesty and integrity, instilling in me the belief that I should never lie to her, no matter what. Her guidance has shaped the person I am today, teaching me the value of trust and the power of honesty between us. It was us against the world.

And then there’s her wisdom about finances. She taught me the importance of saving money for a rainy day, a lesson that has served me well throughout my life.

The most impactful lesson she’s taught me is the true meaning of unconditional love…this includes tough love too ladies and gentleman. In moments of despair, when it felt like the whole world had turned its back on me, she was there. Sounds cheesy right? and everyone loves to say “oh I was there” no…she was there for me even in my darkest hours.

My mom is my partner, my confidante, my best friend, and my greatest ally. I am blessed beyond measure to call her my mother.

Here is my letter to you below…

Dear Mom,

I hope you get time to read this out of your busy schedule… I wanted to say thank you for everything you do for me. You’re the best mom ever! Thanks for always believing in me, even when I didn’t think I could do things. Thank you for always helping me and making sure I’m okay. Thanks for teaching me about being honest, doing the right thing, and finances. But most of all, thanks for always being there for me, even when things were tough. Growing up to this point I realize even more all the sacrifices you made for me even when you were having a rough day you still found a way to ensure I was taken care of. I love you so much! Happy Mother’s Day!
